A new feature on the blog is titled “Famous Poems With a Boston Accent” for obvious reasons. I start out my review of some of the most important poets and poems to me with this beauty by Frank O’Hara.
A lot of times I sample snippets of poems, found writing, and other collage elements. “Dear Jap” is a poem I have stolen lines from in works like “White Numbers,” and more recently “Steam.”
“Jap” was a nickname of Jasper Johns, a visual artist who is extremely influential to my work as well.
