After catching the Rauschenberg: Among Friends show at the MoMA last spring I’ve been spending a lot more time thinking about him and his influence. I have also been returning to old work of mine and reading the Rauschenberg bio “Off The Wall.”
All of this + a first viewing of the movie “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” had the above happen. Way back when, I started substituting X’s and O’s in my work like Basquiat quoting SAMO truisms. They are back.
I have also had the good fortune lately of being called on to push, assist, encourage a few very talented artists. This has had me considering Baldessari a lot— it explains the obscured movie stills.
“Breakfast at Tiffany’s” could be a summary of any romance if you substitute out for rain.
You can see the print and some other prints and things in my online shop.
