Schjeldahl on Matisse

Peter Schjeldahl has a nice piece on the current Matisse show at MOMA (formerly at Art Institute Chicago) in this week’s New Yorker (July 26, 2010).

Although, it is worth noting that his take on Piano Lesson is surpassed greatly by the lecture of Paul Hayes Tucker during ART 317 this semester at UMASS Boston where he visually deconstructed the work with the grace of O’Hara’s poetry and the eye of a laser scope.
